Shooters' success

Shooters of the "Niedźwiadek" Interschool Sports Club of Staszów achieved a huge success by getting to the grand finals of Youth Olympics, which were held in Wrocław during the week of 19.07 - 25.07.2016. Three junior contestants represented Staszów and Świętokrzyskie Province during grand finals: Jarek Makuch (pistol), Dawid Kozioł (pistol) and Jakub Śmistek (rifle).

Jarek Makuch performed above expectations and won a silver medal in the air pistol category. Students of Maciej Tutak - shooting section's trainer - collected precious points for Staszów County in sports competitions.

- In order to qualify for grand finals in the Youth Olympics, you need to achieve at least the 3rd class sports rating, by competing in inter-provincial and national events - said Maciej Tutak.
Members of the "Niedźwiadek" ("Little Bear") Club participated in Youth Olympics eliminations in Starachowice, displaying their great skills by achieving 3rd class rating and winning silver and bronze medals.

Various junior contestants from the Śląskie, Małopolskie, Podkarpackie and Świętokrzyskie Provinces participated in these Olympics. Members of the "Niedźwiadek" Club went through intense and systematic training right before this very important competition.

- Let's hope our shooters maintain this excellent form as long as possible - said trainer Maciej Tutak.
