A run for Independent Poland
On Friday 11 November Staszów's students celebrated the 98th anniversary of Poland reclaiming its independence, with a sports competition. More than 100 contestants participated in the fifth Independence Street Run in Staszów. The goal of this event was both to celebrate the National Independence Day and to popularize sport activities among children and young people. This year's editon was organized by: Staszów County People's Sport Association "LZS" in Staszów, Municipal Council of LZS in Staszów, Town and Municipality of Staszów and County Governor's Office in Staszów. Like in previous editions of this run, the contestants had to beat a distance of 800 meters on a winding route which ran across multiple streets of Staszów. Students who achieved the top 3 places were awarded with medals, all those who placed 1 - 6 received commemorative diplomas.
All the rewards for the best contestants were given to them by Mayor Leszek Kopeć, Deputy Mayor Ewa Kondek, Town Council President Ireneusz Kwiecjasz, and also by County Governor Michał Skotnicki and Deputy County Governor Tomasz Fąfara.
